LA County Fair

Friday night we went to the LA County Fair with Darren and Alisha. It was soooo much fun!! We met at their house then walked to a local, popular, Mexican joint for dinner. They were busy and slow that night so after a long wait (ie we got there when it was light out but didn't get our food until it was dark) we got our food. I'm glad that we went with good friends who we could actually have a real conversation with. You know, cuz sometimes you have "friends" who you don't really talk with; like you go out to dinner to eat, not to talk. So anyway, good friends! Oh the place had one of those plastic, portable juice containers, like the ones at church. It looked like it had lemonade in it and small cups next to it for free samples. Daniel took some and it looked good! Then he took a sip, made a funny face, then said "Smell this"... never a good sign. So of course I smelled it, and knew right away what it was. Cucumber water. But not like the kind at your typical day spa, water with cucumber slices. This was like pureed cucumber with a dash of water. Ew. Not terrible, but definitely not anything I want to try again.

After we finished eating we started our short walk to the fair, it should have been just around the corner... but that gate was closed. So we walked another block or so and that gate was closed. So we went around another corner (think like a square where the fair takes up the whole space) and that gate was closed. Finally we found a driveway and the guy let us go thru..... and we ended up in the stables! We walked thru the entire stable area only to have to go back out the way we came in. After rounding yet another corner we found an entrance.... a small, dark one where we all thought "Is this really an entrace??" Yes it was, and it led to the best part of any fair-- the animals!!

This cow was only three hours old when we saw it!!!

Growing up

Oy, she's doing more and more every day.

YESTERDAY she pulled herself up on all four's (for the first time) and made just a couple crawling movements. I have a video but I can't seem to upload it. I'll post it once I figure out the problem.

And TODAY I let her feed herself. Boy it was messy and fun!

Then she pulls herself up for the first time in her crib. What big girl!!

What's next... teeth????

For my dad

We have tried bananas, pears, peas, applesauce, and peaches. She hates peaches. And what do you think her favorite food is so far??? The only food she opens her mouth wide for? The only food she wants to eat???? PEAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAUUUUGGGGGGGHHHH!!! I hope that doesn't last... haha
