Not mine... yet... but Daniel's 10 year reunion in Stillwater, OK. We stayed with the Poe's who have a beautiful home! Richard was the officiant at our wedding.
We spent four days catching up with friends, exploring Stillwater, and visiting childhood memories. I was surprised at how green everything was! Norma said they had experience several storms recently with lots of rain.
For the reunion we met for lunch at
The Hidaway which is a great pizza place. After lunch we met at the
high school for a school tour. Below are all the students Daniel graduated with. This was the 'lunch' crowd. As the day went on more people joined the group.
Below is the new 21 MILLION DOLLAR football stadium for the HIGH SCHOOL in a small rural area. The principal led the tour and the new school really sounds pretty fantastic! The faculty decided it was safer for kids to stay on campus for lunch so they have really improved their lunch area. The principal made a bet with the students: if they were able to
fundraise enough money to buy two ping-pong tables then he (the principal) would purchase a Foosball table! Guess what? There was a Foosball table there in the cafeteria!
After the school tour we did a little shopping (tax free sale on top of buy 1, get one for $1... how could I pass that up????) relaxed and then met everyone again for dinner at El Vaquero (no link, the food was terrible!) and then for drinks a local hotel. All in all it was a very fun day and I met some really cool people that Daniel knew in high school.
Sunday we went to his old
church and saw more people he knew, fortunately this time I knew some of them as well. We went to lunch with some of his old friends and then went back to Richard and Norma's where I took a 5 HOUR nap. Think I was tired? I got sick on the plane and wasn't quite over it... After my
looooong nap we played Phase 10 and then went to eat at
Eskimo Joe's.

Monday we left and went to the
bombing memorial in Oklahoma City. Went toured the museum and words cannot describe the impact that had. You start off by walking
thru the morning, you hear the actual explosion, then you view actual debris and hear real stories. I think I cried the whole way
thru. Most of the kids, if not all, were Lucy's age. By then I just wanted to be home
with her.
Below are the chairs for each person that died and placed for what level of the building they were on. If you notice the second row, that is where the daycare was. I all but two or three of those chairs is small, kid sized for the child I represents. Tear.
But let me not leave you with a sad feeling! It was a wonderful trip and I enjoyed almost every minute of it! I can't wait to bring Lucy there and show her where Daddy grew up.
Lucy got a new life vest (haha, yah right!) and tried it on at the pool by Gramma and Grampa Joe's house.
